Here You Can Meet 3 High-Growth Companies
Møn Surf
Møn is perfect for all forms of surfing, whether wind, wave, or kitesurfing, or stand-up paddling. Depending on the weather, conditions may favor one activity or another.
That is why Kesia Cohan decided to turn Møn into the untapped surf paradise that was waiting to be discovered.
Together with her American husband, Patrick Cohan, she opened a surf school in Klintholm Harbour.
“It is gratifying to have proven those who were skeptical wrong. But even though they were skeptical, they have always cheered us on and wished us the best,” says Patrick Cohan.
“We have been received so well—by both locals and tourists. We can really feel that this was something that had been missing. It was truly great to have it confirmed that it was not just a crazy idea,” says Kesia Cohan.
Borg Inventar
Borg Inventar is one of Denmark’s largest installers of shop fittings, with clients including major nationwide petrol station chains such as Circle K and the electronics giant Power. They install everything found in stores, from shelves and wall panels to ceilings and machines.
The seed of Borg Inventar, and the reason that such a large company is based in Vordingborg Municipality, stems from a problem. In 2002, when Knud Borg founded Borg Inventar, Statoil had grown tired of their fittings supplier, while insisting on keeping Knud Borg as an installer.
Knud Borg, who at that time worked for Statoil’s fittings supplier, could easily solve that problem. He left the supplier and set up his own business instead.
“In the first month, I issued invoices for 79,000 kroner. I thought that was a lot of money. And I was proud,” recalls Knud Borg about the then newly founded Borg Inventar.
Hotel Residens Møen
Hotel Manager Christian Petersen is always on the move. The direction is forward, but there are always side routes to test to see whether opportunities exist.
The dream was one thing, but reality turned out to be something else entirely. Five years after Hotel Residens Møen opened its doors, things look markedly different from what Christian Petersen envisaged. He is almost overwhelmed by the development they have been through.
A development he had not imagined at all.
“Never—never ever. I had not imagined it at all. I had imagined that we would grow and develop, but that it has gone as fast and as well as it has—I did not see that coming,” says Christian Petersen.
Hotel Residens Møen is set to become even bigger in the future. Plans are already in the pipeline, along with many other visions that will create more growth and more jobs on Møn.
