Vordingborg Municipality – Eastern Denmark’s Powerhouse for Green Energy by 2030

Vordingborg Municipality is working proactively towards its 2030 vision of becoming Eastern Denmark’s power hub for green energy, with Business Vordingborg being one of the key players in promoting green business in the municipality. The aim is to create a municipality that excels in business-friendliness, growth opportunities, welfare, and green energy production.

In addition to contributing positively to the green transition and ensuring future energy supply for the citizens of Vordingborg Municipality and Danes in general, the vision aims to create more jobs, better opportunities, and growth in the municipality. The municipality aims to achieve this through excellent business services and attractive frameworks and conditions.

Along with Vordingborg Municipality’s and Business Vordingborg’s work towards more favorable conditions and future-proofing of the business community, the future also holds good export opportunities for the municipality’s companies. Soon, the Fehmarn Belt connection will be completed, allowing companies to benefit from the short route to the rest of Europe’s trade connections.

> A Clear Plan to Reach the Goal

After the vision was established, a Business Master Plan was developed by Vordingborg Municipality and Vordingborg Business Association. The plan contains strategic milestones and initiatives that will help Vordingborg Municipality achieve its ambitious vision through collaboration and proactivity.

The plan describes, among other things, how Vordingborg Municipality will become even more attractive and business-friendly, and how housing, labor market, and welfare will be prioritized in the future.

Business Vordingborg was assigned various areas of responsibility and subsequently developed its own strategic action plan. Going forward, the organization will distribute its workload with 75% focused on attracting new green companies to Vordingborg Municipality and 25% on business services for existing companies in the municipality.

Additionally, Business Vordingborg aims to attract 10 new green energy companies to the municipality, create 1,000 new jobs, and increase the amount of green energy produced from 1 GW to 5 GW by 2030. Therefore, they are working hard to promote business conditions for both green companies and future energy parks.
